Duke and Duchess of Cambridge: ASOS selling cheap alternative to Kate Middleton’s iconic wedding dress

11 years ago today, April 29, Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot and we are still swooning from her iconic wedding dress. The Duchess of Cambridge’s custom Alexander McQueen dress left brides and future brides scouring the internet for an affordable version of the dress.

Kate’s dreamy, long-sleeved, lace, applique dress was rumoured to have cost a hefty £250,000, – making it the fifth most expensive wedding dress of all time according to OK! Magazine. But brides-to-be can now emulate Kate’s look for a fraction of the price, thanks to ASOS.

The retailer is selling a similar version for £180.00, as part of its new bridal range. The ivory dress has a bodice, a full skirt and long, lace sleeves just like Kate’s.

However there are a few differences between the dresses… Kates lavish dress have a plunging neck line where this one is much more conservative with a round neck and bead and sequin embellishment to top. This dress also doesn’t have the long train that Kate Middleton’s dress had. But, considering it costs a whopping £249,820 less than the designer version, it’s still an impressive offering.

In the reviews one happy customer described it as: “Beautiful dress, the quality is also good and the size is great!” Another said: I had doubts about this dress, but after i received it – they all disappeared. Good material, looks really good and the delivery was very fast. Can’t wait to marry in this dress!”
