Coles has teamed up with conservation organisation Aussie Ark to increase funding for the protection of Australian wildlife, exclusively koalas (they are claimed to be facing extinction in NSW and Queensland).
In accordance to the retailer, Australia’s koalas have now been officially classified as ‘endangered’ following widespread bushfires, drought, floods and land clearing.
“Approximately 80% of koala habitat,” claims Coles, “has been missing and at the recent level of drop, some species of koala could be extinct by 2050.”
To enable increase resources and teach foreseeable future generations on the significance of safeguarding our wildlife, Coles has launched its initially-ever free children’s e-e-book termed ‘The Picky Minor Koala’.
